Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-precision automotive components, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Quality Control Inspector to join their production facility in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, IN . This role is critical in ensuring that all manufactured parts meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed inspections, identifying defects, calibrating measurement equipment, and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives. You will work closely with production teams to address quality issues promptly and effectively, maintaining the company's reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using various measurement tools and techniques. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to verify product conformance. Operate and maintain precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and gauges. Identify, document, and report non-conforming products and materials, initiating corrective actions. Perform root cause analysis for quality defects and implement effective solutions. Ensure all inspection and test equipment is calibrated and maintained in accordance with established procedures. Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D teams to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and operating procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans and procedures. Train and mentor junior quality inspectors and production staff on quality standards and inspection methods. Maintain accurate and organized quality records, including inspection reports and traceability data. Participate in internal and external quality audits. Stay up-to-date with industry quality standards and best practices (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949). Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives aimed at improving product quality and process efficiency. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies in the workplace. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in Quality Control/Assurance is preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and inspection reports. Hands-on experience with various precision measuring instruments and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and statistical process control (SPC). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of automotive industry quality standards is a significant advantage. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus. Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overtime, to meet production demands. Ability to lift and move moderately heavy items as required. Proficiency in English and Malayalam is required.
