Our client, a reputable and growing insurance provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Claims Adjuster specializing in Property & Casualty to join their dedicated claims team in **Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, IN**. This position plays a vital role in managing complex insurance claims efficiently and effectively, ensuring fair settlements while upholding company standards and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of P&C insurance policies, claims investigation techniques, and negotiation skills. You will be responsible for handling a caseload of moderate to complex claims, conducting thorough investigations, assessing damages, negotiating settlements, and providing excellent customer service to policyholders during a challenging time.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate, evaluate, and settle property and casualty insurance claims in accordance with policy provisions, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Conduct thorough claim investigations, including reviewing policy documents, gathering evidence, interviewing claimants and witnesses, and assessing property damage. Determine coverage validity and liability based on policy terms and investigation findings. Negotiate settlements with policyholders, legal representatives, and other involved parties in a fair and timely manner. Manage a caseload of complex claims, ensuring prompt and accurate claim processing and documentation. Communicate effectively with policyholders, providing clear explanations of the claims process, coverage, and settlement offers. Work closely with internal departments (e.g., underwriting, legal) and external partners (e.g., repair contractors, appraisers) as needed. Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious claims for further investigation. Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documenting all activities, communications, and decisions. Stay updated on relevant insurance laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Contribute to the training and mentoring of junior claims adjusters. Ensure customer satisfaction by providing a high level of service throughout the claims process. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Associate in Claims - AIC, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter - CPCU) are highly desirable. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Claims Adjuster, with a strong focus on Property & Casualty insurance. In-depth knowledge of P&C insurance policies, coverage issues, and claims handling procedures. Proven ability to investigate complex claims, assess damages, and negotiate settlements effectively. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications. Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks. High ethical standards and a commitment to customer service. Willingness to travel locally for claim inspections as required.
