Senior Pharmaceutical Research Scientist

Our client, a renowned pharmaceutical company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to contribute to groundbreaking drug discovery and development initiatives. This challenging role, based in Mysuru, Karnataka, IN , will involve designing and conducting complex experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of novel therapeutic agents. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related field, coupled with extensive post-doctoral or industry experience. You will play a critical role in identifying new drug targets, developing innovative drug candidates, and advancing projects through preclinical stages.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, execute, and interpret in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy and safety of potential drug candidates. Identify and validate novel drug targets for various therapeutic areas. Develop and optimize assay methodologies for high-throughput screening and compound evaluation. Conduct mechanistic studies to understand drug action and potential side effects. Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, and toxicologists to advance drug discovery projects. Analyze experimental data, draw conclusions, and present findings at internal and external scientific meetings. Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications, patent applications, and regulatory documents. Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in drug discovery and development. Mentor junior research scientists and provide technical guidance. Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory notebooks and records. Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols and ethical guidelines. Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant research experience post-Ph.D. in the pharmaceutical industry or a leading academic research institution. Proven track record of successful drug discovery and development contributions. Extensive hands-on experience with a range of experimental techniques relevant to drug discovery (e.g., cell-based assays, molecular biology techniques, PK/PD studies). Strong understanding of disease biology and therapeutic mechanisms. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical methods. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment. Experience with specific therapeutic areas (e.g., oncology, immunology, CNS) is a plus.
