Our client is a leading player in the manufacturing sector, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their team. This critical role is based at their state-of-the-art facility in Halifax, Nova Scotia, CA .
The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. You will play a key role in identifying areas for improvement, developing innovative solutions, and ensuring the smooth and cost-effective operation of production lines. This position requires a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, lean methodologies, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include evaluating existing manufacturing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending improvements. You will design and implement new processes, equipment, and technologies to optimize production output and reduce waste. Developing and maintaining process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control measures will be essential. The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer will also conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
Further duties involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, R&D, and maintenance, to ensure seamless integration of processes and problem-solving. You will lead process improvement projects, utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards is paramount. You will also train production staff on new processes and best practices, and provide technical support.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, with a focus on optimizing production lines. Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred). Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems. Experience with process simulation and modeling software is an asset. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in CAD software for process design and layout. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Experience in tooling, automation, and equipment selection is highly desirable. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
