Senior Educational Technology Specialist

Our client, a renowned educational institution, is seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Educational Technology Specialist to enhance the learning experience through the strategic integration of technology in London, Ontario, CA . This role is pivotal in supporting faculty and students in leveraging digital tools and platforms to foster engaging and effective learning environments. You will be responsible for evaluating, implementing, and supporting educational technologies, providing training, and developing resources to promote digital literacy and pedagogical best practices. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of learning theories, educational technology tools, and curriculum development.

Responsibilities include:

Evaluate, recommend, and implement new educational technologies and digital learning tools to support diverse pedagogical approaches. Provide technical support and training to faculty and students on the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational software. Develop and deliver workshops and resources on effective use of educational technology for teaching and learning. Collaborate with faculty to design and integrate technology into course curriculum, enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. Troubleshoot technical issues related to educational software and platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to the learning process. Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in educational technology and online learning. Contribute to the development of institutional strategies for digital learning and educational technology adoption. Manage and maintain existing educational technology platforms, ensuring their optimal performance and accessibility. Create user-friendly documentation, guides, and tutorials for educational technology tools. Support the administration and configuration of the LMS and other key learning platforms. Analyze usage data and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and innovation. Collaborate with IT services and other departments to ensure seamless integration of educational technologies. Promote a culture of digital innovation and effective technology integration within the institution. Assist in the planning and execution of technology-related professional development initiatives.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Education Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in educational technology support, instructional design, or a related role within an educational setting. Proven experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and other common educational software. Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories. Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience in developing and delivering training programs. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
