Automotive Production Engineer

You will be responsible for implementing lean manufacturing principles, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with various departments to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and refine production processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety standards.
• Monitor production lines, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve throughput and reduce downtime.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, JIT) to continuously improve operational performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues, including equipment malfunctions, quality defects, and process deviations.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure adherence to quality standards and implement corrective actions.
• Work with engineering and design teams to integrate new product introductions and process changes smoothly.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production processes.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, measure performance, and recommend improvements.
• Train and mentor production staff on new processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations on the production floor.
• Participate in the selection and implementation of new production equipment and technologies.
• Manage production schedules and resource allocation to meet targets.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workstation layout and worker efficiency.
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through process optimization and waste elimination.
• Generate reports on production performance, quality metrics, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a production engineering role, preferably within the automotive manufacturing sector.
• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and principles.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement techniques.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
