Our client is seeking a dedicated and innovative Lead Agronomist to spearhead their sustainable agriculture initiatives in the **Vadodara, Gujarat, IN** region. This role requires a hands-on approach, combining scientific expertise with practical field application to optimize crop yields, soil health, and environmental stewardship.

The Lead Agronomist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating agricultural research and development programs focused on sustainable practices. This includes soil analysis, crop rotation planning, pest and disease management strategies, and water resource management. You will work closely with farm managers, agronomists, and research teams to ensure the successful integration of eco-friendly and efficient farming techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic plans for sustainable agricultural production, focusing on soil health, biodiversity, and resource conservation. Conduct detailed soil testing and analysis to determine optimal fertilization and amendment strategies. Design and manage crop rotation programs to enhance soil fertility and reduce pest pressure. Research and recommend advanced pest and disease control methods, emphasizing integrated pest management (IPM) and organic solutions. Monitor water usage and develop efficient irrigation strategies to conserve resources. Evaluate the effectiveness of new agricultural technologies and practices, such as precision agriculture and conservation tillage. Train and mentor farm staff on best practices in sustainable agriculture and crop management. Collaborate with researchers to conduct field trials and analyze experimental data. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote eco-friendly farming standards. Prepare reports on crop performance, soil conditions, and sustainability metrics for management. Advise on seed selection, planting densities, and harvesting techniques to maximize yield and quality. Qualifications:

Master's degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or a closely related field. Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in agronomy, with a significant focus on sustainable or organic farming practices. In-depth knowledge of soil science, plant physiology, entomology, and plant pathology. Proven experience with soil analysis techniques, crop monitoring, and data interpretation. Familiarity with precision agriculture tools and techniques is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. Experience in leading projects and mentoring junior staff. Knowledge of local crops and agricultural challenges in the Gujarat region is advantageous. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various farm locations.
