Senior Education Technology Specialist

Our client, a forward-thinking educational institution, is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Education Technology Specialist to join their team in **Saskatoon, Saskatchewan**. This role is essential in integrating and supporting innovative technology solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and administrative processes across the institution. You will be responsible for evaluating, implementing, and managing educational technologies, providing expert training and support to faculty, staff, and students. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of current educational technology trends, a passion for pedagogy, and strong technical and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new educational technology tools and platforms (e.g., Learning Management Systems (LMS), collaboration tools, multimedia resources). Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and workshops for faculty, staff, and students on effectively using educational technologies. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for educational technology issues, ensuring minimal disruption to academic activities. Collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to integrate technology into curriculum design and pedagogical practices. Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in educational technology and digital learning. Manage the administration and maintenance of key educational technology systems. Develop and maintain documentation, guides, and resources for educational technology users. Conduct needs assessments to identify technology gaps and recommend solutions to enhance the learning experience. Contribute to the development of institutional strategies for educational technology adoption and integration. Assist in managing vendor relationships and evaluating software licenses and contracts. Qualifications: Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in educational technology support, implementation, or management, preferably within a post-secondary institution. Proven experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle) and other educational software. Strong understanding of pedagogical principles and how technology can support effective teaching and learning. Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support diverse user groups. Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Experience in curriculum development or instructional design is a significant asset. Familiarity with IT infrastructure and network concepts relevant to educational environments.
