Senior Delivery Driver - Logistics Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Delivery Driver with a proven track record in logistics to join our dynamic team in Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN . This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the timely and secure delivery of goods across various designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional driving skills, a deep understanding of local road networks, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of customer service and safety. You will be an integral part of our operations, contributing directly to the efficiency and reliability of our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including trucks and vans, in a safe and efficient manner. Plan and execute daily delivery routes, optimizing for time and fuel efficiency. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly. Maintain accurate delivery logs, including proof of delivery signatures and any exceptions noted. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service during delivery interactions, addressing any client concerns professionally. Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and order picking. Train and mentor junior delivery personnel, sharing best practices and operational knowledge. Continuously seek opportunities to improve delivery processes and reduce operational costs.

Qualifications and Skills:

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or delivery setting. Thorough knowledge of Nagpur and surrounding areas, including efficient route planning. Ability to operate heavy vehicles and perform basic maintenance checks. Strong physical stamina to handle loading and unloading of goods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and delivery management software. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in mechanics or logistics is a plus. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to punctuality.
