Agricultural Operations Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Agricultural Operations Manager to lead and oversee all farming and forestry activities in **Vadodara, Gujarat, IN**. This role requires a hands-on approach and deep expertise in modern agricultural practices, crop management, and potentially forestry. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising all aspects of the farm operations to ensure maximum yield, quality, and profitability while adhering to sustainable practices and regulatory compliance. You will manage resources, personnel, and budgets effectively to achieve operational goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

Developing and implementing annual farming and forestry operational plans. Overseeing crop planning, planting, cultivation, and harvesting activities to optimize yield and quality. Managing irrigation systems, soil health, and pest/disease control programs. Supervising and training farm and forestry workers, ensuring safe and efficient work practices. Managing the procurement of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other essential supplies. Maintaining and operating farm machinery and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and repair schedules. Monitoring weather patterns and adjusting operations accordingly to mitigate risks. Implementing and ensuring adherence to sustainable farming and forestry practices. Managing budgets, controlling operational costs, and maximizing profitability. Ensuring compliance with all relevant agricultural and environmental regulations. Keeping abreast of new technologies and advancements in agriculture and forestry. Maintaining detailed records of crops, yields, resource usage, and financial performance. Coordinating with suppliers, distributors, and agricultural consultants. Developing and implementing strategies for land management and conservation. A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Forestry, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is a plus. A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale agricultural or forestry operations is essential. Demonstrable knowledge of crop science, soil management, irrigation techniques, and pest control is mandatory. Experience with modern farming equipment and technologies is crucial. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills are necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse workforce.
