Senior Broadcast Journalist

Our client, a leading media organization, is seeking a seasoned Senior Broadcast Journalist to join their prestigious newsroom. This is a pivotal role for an experienced and dynamic journalist who can lead reporting efforts, break significant stories, and deliver compelling news content across various platforms. You will be at the forefront of covering major events and developing in-depth journalistic pieces that inform and engage our audience. Responsibilities: Lead investigative journalism projects and uncover significant news stories. Conduct in-depth interviews with key figures, experts, and sources. Write, edit, and produce high-quality news reports for broadcast and digital platforms. Develop and pitch compelling story ideas that align with the organization's editorial direction. Oversee the daily news coverage, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and timeliness. Manage and mentor junior reporters and production staff. Collaborate with camera crews, editors, and producers to create engaging multimedia content. Build and maintain a strong network of sources across various sectors. Verify facts and ensure all reporting adheres to the highest journalistic standards. Represent the organization at press conferences and public events. Stay informed about current events, political developments, and social issues. Utilize social media and digital tools to enhance news dissemination and audience engagement.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in broadcast journalism, with a strong portfolio of published work. Proven experience in investigative reporting and breaking news coverage. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Strong interviewing and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in news gathering, fact-checking, and ethical reporting practices. Experience with news production software and digital media tools. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. A deep understanding of local and national current affairs. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of media law and broadcast regulations.
