Senior Agronomist - Sustainable Farming Practices

Our client, a leading agricultural research and development firm dedicated to pioneering sustainable farming solutions, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Agronomist to join their team in **Kochi, Kerala, IN**. This role is critical in advancing our understanding and implementation of environmentally responsible agricultural practices. You will be involved in field trials, data analysis, crop management strategies, and advising on best practices to enhance yield and soil health while minimizing environmental impact. The ideal candidate possesses a strong scientific background, extensive practical experience in agronomy, and a passion for sustainable agriculture.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing and conducting field experiments to evaluate crop varieties, fertilizers, pesticides, and soil management techniques. Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting agronomic data to provide actionable insights and recommendations. Developing and implementing integrated pest management (IPM) and sustainable nutrient management strategies. Monitoring crop health, soil conditions, and environmental factors, and advising on corrective measures. Providing technical guidance and training to farm managers and agricultural workers on best agronomic practices. Researching and promoting the adoption of climate-resilient and water-efficient farming methods. Collaborating with research institutions, government agencies, and industry stakeholders. Preparing detailed reports, scientific papers, and presentations on research findings and project outcomes. Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and safety standards. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in agronomy, agricultural technology, and sustainable farming.

The successful candidate will hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural field. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in agronomic research, field operations, or consulting is required. Demonstrated experience in sustainable agriculture, organic farming, or precision agriculture is highly desirable. Strong analytical and statistical skills, proficiency in data analysis software, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in diverse field conditions is crucial.
