Senior Agronomist - Sustainable Agriculture

A prominent agricultural research organization is seeking an experienced Senior Agronomist to lead initiatives in sustainable agriculture practices. Responsibilities

Develop and implement sustainable agricultural programs and research projects. Conduct field trials to evaluate new crop varieties, fertilizers, and pest management techniques. Analyze soil and plant tissue samples to assess nutrient deficiencies and recommend appropriate interventions. Provide technical expertise and training to farmers on best practices in crop management and soil health. Monitor crop health and identify diseases and pests, recommending integrated pest management (IPM) solutions. Collaborate with research institutions and extension services to disseminate knowledge and best practices. Develop reports and recommendations based on field observations and data analysis. Advise on water management techniques and efficient irrigation systems. Promote biodiversity and conservation practices within agricultural systems. Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines for sustainable agriculture. Qualifications:

Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a related agricultural field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in agronomic research, field trials, and extension services. In-depth knowledge of soil fertility, plant physiology, and crop protection. Experience with sustainable and organic farming practices. Proven ability to conduct field research and analyze data using statistical software. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a field-based setting. Familiarity with local agricultural challenges and opportunities in the region.
