Job Description
Our client, a rapidly expanding logistics company, is looking for an experienced Logistics and Fleet Manager to oversee operations in **Laval, Quebec, CA**. This critical role involves managing all aspects of our transportation fleet, optimizing delivery routes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader with a proven track record in supply chain management and a deep understanding of transportation best practices. You will be responsible for managing a team of drivers and dispatchers, coordinating with various stakeholders, and implementing strategies to reduce costs and improve service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize daily transportation operations, including route planning and scheduling. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and compliance of the company's fleet of vehicles. Ensure adherence to all provincial and federal transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS). Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and minimize operational costs. Manage relationships with third-party carriers and service providers. Supervise and train dispatchers and drivers, fostering a culture of safety and performance. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports on fleet performance and operational efficiency. Respond effectively to and resolve logistical issues and emergencies. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Implement and manage technology solutions for fleet management and tracking.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a logistics or transportation management role. Proven experience managing a fleet of commercial vehicles. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in logistics management software and GPS tracking systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. Valid driver's license. Bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset.
