Junior Legal Counsel

Our client, a reputable law firm, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to join their practice in **Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala**. Responsibilities

Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to ongoing matters. Assist senior lawyers in drafting legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Review and analyze contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments. Prepare case files, evidence, and exhibits for hearings and trials. Attend client meetings and take detailed notes. Support the litigation team by managing discovery processes, including document review and production. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel under the supervision of senior attorneys. Ensure timely filing of legal documents with appropriate courts and agencies. Maintain organized and up-to-date client files and case records. Assist in the preparation of legal opinions and advice for clients. Stay informed about legal developments and best practices in relevant practice areas. Support corporate governance activities, including board resolutions and filings. Conduct preliminary analysis of legal issues and present findings to senior staff. Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards are maintained in all aspects of work. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and training sessions. Assist in due diligence processes for corporate transactions. Draft simple agreements and standard legal forms. Help manage the firm's internal legal databases and document management system. Provide administrative support to the legal team as needed. Participate in professional development activities to enhance legal skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university. Must be enrolled with the Bar Council and hold a valid license to practice law in India. 0-3 years of post-qualification experience in a legal setting. Strong legal research and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in legal drafting and document review. Familiarity with civil procedure and court rules. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using legal research databases and standard office software. Strong organizational and time management skills. Eagerness to learn and develop professionally. Knowledge of Malayalam is advantageous.
