Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver - Local Deliveries

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver to join their dynamic logistics team in Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN . This is a critical role responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods across local routes. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent driving record, a strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations, and a commitment to maintaining the company's reputation for reliability.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy goods vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Plan and execute daily delivery routes, ensuring efficient use of time and fuel. Load and unload goods as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of all cargo. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance issues immediately. Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally with clients and the public. Uphold the company's commitment to safety and environmental standards. Manage delivery schedules effectively to meet specified timelines. Communicate any delays or issues encountered on routes to the dispatch team promptly. Ensure the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle. Qualifications:

Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) license with an excellent driving record. Proven experience as an HGV driver, preferably with local delivery experience. Knowledge of Nagpur and surrounding areas' road networks. Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading duties. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional attitude and commitment to customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. Ability to follow instructions precisely and adhere to safety protocols. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN . Opportunities for overtime may be available.
