Our client, a growing chemical manufacturing company based in Mississauga, Ontario, CA , is seeking a dedicated and skilled Chemical Process Development Engineer. This role is crucial for the optimization and innovation of our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of process development, from bench-scale experimentation and pilot plant trials to full-scale production support. Key responsibilities include designing and executing experiments to improve existing processes, developing new manufacturing routes for chemical products, and troubleshooting production issues. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, including reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and separation technologies. Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Chemcad) is highly desirable. You will work closely with R&D chemists, plant engineers, and quality control teams to ensure smooth technology transfer and scale-up. Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent documentation practices are essential. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. You will also be involved in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Responsibilities

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. 2-5 years of experience in process development or chemical engineering roles. Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Chemcad). Understanding of chemical reaction engineering and thermodynamics. Strong laboratory and analytical skills. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of process safety principles.
