Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer - Build Structure. Own Supplier Quality. Protect System Reliability.
💼 Job Description:
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining a structured, independent quality function throughout the full project lifecycle — from the Sales-to-Engineering handover through design, manufacturing, qualification (FAT/SAT), and customer delivery.
This role ensures that all systems, components, processes, and products meet defined customer requirements, engineering intent, and applicable compliance standards. The Quality Engineer plays a key role in reducing risk, minimizing rework, and driving consistency across all stages of execution.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 CAD
- Requests outside of the salary range is available and determined by interview process*.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities:
I. Supplier & Incoming Quality
- Validate incoming parts and materials against engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications
- Review supplier inspection reports and hold vendors to defined verification standards
- Support supplier qualification processes and contribute to ongoing improvements in vendor quality assurance
II. Engineering Quality & Design Control
- Verify that functional specifications are complete, clear, and approved prior to design release
- Participate in design reviews and apply quality gates at each stage of the engineering process
- Maintain traceability between customer requirements and corresponding design outputs
III. Manufacturing & Build Quality
- Monitor in-process inspections and uphold workmanship standards throughout production
- Identify nonconformances early and lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities
- Ensure production execution remains aligned with engineering intent at every stage of the build
IV. Qualification & Validation (FAT/SAT)
- Develop and execute structured Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures with defined acceptance criteria
- Confirm that all systems satisfy functional, performance, and compliance requirements before shipment
- Ensure all outstanding issues are resolved and documented prior to customer acceptance
V. Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Define and implement measurable quality standards and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Introduce preventive quality controls and enforce lifecycle quality gates across projects
- Establish feedback mechanisms that channel field and customer issues back into design and manufacturing improvements
📚 Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or a related discipline)
- 5+ years of experience in a quality role within the automation, machinery, or manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated experience in supplier quality management, incoming inspections, and FAT/SAT processes
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and manufacturing methods
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to independently evaluate data, challenge assumptions, and make sound quality decisions
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams
- Capable of balancing quality standards with operational efficiency to keep projects on track

Our headquarters is based in Concord, Ontario. A hub for advanced manufacturing with access to urban amenities, close to highway 400 and 407. There is free parking available on-site. Our facility is clean with great lighting, fostering innovation and collaboration!
