As a Multi-Specialty Medical Coder at OptiClaim Business Solutions, you will be a crucial part of ensuring accurate coding, prevention of denials, compliance with regulations, and optimization of revenue in various outpatient specialties. Your role will involve expertly assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes for different professional and outpatient services. You will specifically handle coding for specialties such as ED, PCP, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Surgical specialties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes across multiple specialties.
- Reviewing and coding encounters for various outpatient specialties.
- Analyzing and resolving outpatient coding denials, underpayments, and payer rejections.
- Ensuring compliance with CMS guidelines, NCCI edits, LCD/NCD policies, and payer-specific requirements.
- Conducting coding audits and supporting documentation improvement initiatives.
- Developing productivity, denial, and operational reports using Microsoft Excel.
To excel in this role, you must possess expertise in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers, along with strong knowledge of outpatient professional coding and denial management. Additionally, familiarity with Medicare guidelines, NCCI edits, and payer policies is essential. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are also required.
