Job Description

For the production and test environments, this role will be responsible for:

• Proactively ensuring the whole technology stack runs optimally, with resilience and reliability
• Maintain patching, updates and recommendations for sequencing updates to maximise functionality and minimise downtime and risk of failure
• Proactively manage issues to define the root cause and recommend permanent solutions
• Liaise and coordinate with external managed service, software and hardware providers
• Provide service level and contract input
• Supporting change activity by providing test environments and performing deployment activities
• Transition of project works into production environment and subsequent monitoring

User Support:

• Provide appropriate Level 2 or SME systems support, including training and pre-emptive identification and resolution of user issues
• Work with other support teams within IT Operations locally and offshore, and vendor partners to deliver the best outcome for the end user

Vendor & Change Management:

• Engage with vendor partners in incident management and change tracking and follow up
• Execute and enhance the operation of the IFM IT & Vendor Change Approval Board (CAB) process and meetings
• Act as a reviewer and implementer of IT change that is presented at the weekly IFM CAB meeting.

The Successful Applicant

Key Technical Requirements:

• Strong experience managing and administering Windows Servers
• Proficiency with VMware
• Exposure to network technologies
• Exposure to databases
• Ideally, familiarity with cloud environments

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working within globally distributed infrastructure
• 10+ years of overall IT experience, including 5+ years in engineering or support roles
• Background in financial services/banking is beneficial but not required

Soft Skills:

• Excellent customer‑facing communication skills; must be comfortable interacting with a large number of end users
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide high‑quality user support
