Role Overview:

The Principal Officer will be the key executive responsible for the regulatory compliance, strategic oversight, and operational execution of our insurance aggregation business. This position requires a thorough understanding of IRDAI Web Aggregator Guidelines and leadership capabilities to oversee cross-functional teams including Compliance, Operations, Sales, and Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the principal executive responsible for overall compliance with IRDAI regulations under the Web Aggregator guidelines.
• Serve as the main point of contact for all regulatory bodies including IRDAI.
• Lead and supervise operational departments – sales, support, and technology – ensuring performance and accountability.
• Approve and review published insurance content and compare quotes across platforms.
• Maintain records, submit regulatory returns, and oversee statutory filings and audits.
• Ensure grievance redressal mechanism is in place and efficient as per IRDAI norms.
• Liaise with insurance partners for onboarding, API integration, and business terms finalization.
• Participate in business planning and long-term strategy alignment with the Board of Directors.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (mandatory); MBA or equivalent preferred.
• IRDAI-mandated certification for Principal Officer (or willingness to acquire before appointment).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in insurance operations, broking, or aggregation.
• Strong understanding of IRDAI regulations for web aggregators.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail and integrity in compliance matters.
• Preferred Attributes:
• Prior experience as Principal Officer or in compliance/regulatory roles in an insurance company or aggregator.
• Tech-savvy and experience working with insurance API integrations or aggregator platforms.
• Ability to build and lead teams from scratch in a startup environment.
