We’re looking for an experienced Buyer / Brand Manager who is passionate about product, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys making data-backed decisions that drive profitable growth.

This position reports to the SVP of Merchandising.

Position Summary

The Buyer / Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing assortment strategies across assigned brands and product categories. This role owns the entire product lifecycle—from vendor relationships and assortment planning through pricing, inventory management, and sell-through optimization.

This is an ownership-driven role. The ideal candidate is naturally resourceful, takes initiative without being asked, and enjoys solving problems independently in a fast-paced environment. They have a strong apparel merchandising background, understand the unique dynamics of e-commerce marketplaces, and are comfortable leveraging modern AI tools to improve productivity and decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Develop assortment strategies that maximize sales, profitability, and inventory productivity.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Analyze sales, inventory, margin, and marketplace performance to make informed buying decisions.
  • Monitor trends, competitive pricing, and customer demand to identify new product opportunities.
  • Partner with Advertising, Operations, Photography, Logistics, and Customer Experience teams to successfully launch and manage products.
  • Own product lifecycle management from initial purchase through sell-down.
  • Proactively communicate business performance, opportunities, risks, and inventory concerns.
  • Use data to continuously optimize assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and similar technologies to improve research, analysis, communication, and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of buying, merchandising, category management, or brand management experience required.
  • Apparel buying or merchandising experience is required.
  • Amazon marketplace experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Walmart Marketplace or other major e-commerce platforms is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable learning and adopting new technologies and systems.
  • Must be comfortable using AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms as part of daily work.
