Java Backend Engineer - JIS130083

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and API development, along with exposure to cloud environments and production deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Design and implement microservices-based architecture following industry best practices
• Participate in end-to-end development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, and production support
• Handle production deployments and ensure application stability and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and QA
• Work with CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and deployment
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability

Technical Skills Required

• Strong experience in Java backend development
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST API development
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and design patterns
• Experience with CI/CD tools and production deployments
• Familiarity with relational databases (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred, other cloud experience acceptable)

Additional Requirements

• Comfortable with a role split of approximately 60% development and 30–40% deployment/production support
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS services
• Exposure to NoSQL databases like Cassandra
• Prior experience working in high-scale distributed systems
