Job Description

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant as a Casual employee/trainee to assist in laboratory duties and techniques. The goal is to conduct and learn drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic studies of novel glutamine antagonists and D4 receptor ligands and LC/MS/MS bioanalysis techniques on novel analogs of dendrimer conjugated nsmase2 inhibitors

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate will perform experiments to understand solubility, metabolism and pharmacokinetics of the novel glutamine antagonist prodrugs.
Under supervision of Jesse Alt and Rana Rais, candidate will be conducting and measuring aqueous solubility studies of the novel prodrugs.
Candidate will also learn bioanalysis techniques on different tissues (plasma, brain, GI) following oral/iv administration of the compounds.
Will be expected to conduct in vitro experiments to evaluate stability of the compounds.
At the end of term, required to prepare reports for the work he/she conducts.
Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Must have some lab experience and strong scientific background with an emphasis on drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics.
