Full Time/Day Shift: 8:30am-5:30pm
Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD – Cytopathology Lab
Position Summary:
- Coordinates patient records and materials including input of diagnoses into a computer and patient demographics verification.
- Uses infection control precautions in handling patient specimens.
- Transcribes pathologist and cytotechnologist diagnoses; files and retrieves slides and reports; collates slides and materials for quality control and schedules patient procedures.
- Responsibilities include accessioning specimens, verifying patient and specimen information, coordinating send-out services, printing and filing reports, maintaining slide archives, scheduling FNA procedures, processing consultation cases, answering departmental phones, supporting quality control activities, maintaining laboratory records and equipment logs, and retrieving archival records and supplies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent. Coursework in typing, data entry procedures, and medical terminology preferred.
Work Experience
- One to two years of experience in a medical environment utilizing medical terminology preferred

- None required

Salary Range: Minimum 17.00/hour - Maximum 28.06/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
