Senior Software Engineer / Backend Engineer

Location: Quincy, MA (Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite)

Employment Type: 03 month Contract (possibility of extension)

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a major banking project, contributing to end-to-end design, development, and delivery of high-impact systems. This role requires strong technical expertise combined with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into scalable, high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements for major banking initiatives and design optimized technical solutions
• Develop high-quality processes and programs based on technical specifications
• Perform unit testing following best practices and resolve defects proactively
• Plan, design, and execute tests to ensure end-to-end quality of deliverables
• Analyze and document test results, reporting issues and collaborating with the team on resolutions
• Complete all required program documentation and review test outcomes with project teams
• Prepare and submit change management documentation for production deployment
• Participate in post-implementation activities, ensuring successful rollout and information delivery
• Iterate on solutions based on project needs to ensure accurate, timely delivery of project outputs

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• 2+ years of hands-on programming experience
• Expertise with Linux/UNIX operating systems
• Strong proficiency in:
• Java, Python, C, JCLs
• Shell Scripting, PowerShell
• Experience working with Oracle databases
• Tools: MicroFocus, Eclipse

Nice to Have

• Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency
