Job Description
Insight Global is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer for a 6-month contract supporting a mine project in Northwest BC on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) schedule. This role is focused on construction-phase execution, requiring a hands-on engineer who can work directly in the field alongside contractors and trades. Responsibilities include interpreting electrical drawings and specifications, supporting field activities, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, managing RFIs/NCRs, and ensuring project quality, safety, and performance reporting standards are met.
Must Haves:
- Electrical Engineering background with 5+ years of construction-phase project experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, datasheets, and specifications
- Proven hands-on field experience working alongside contractors and trades (not office-only)
- Experience managing and responding to RFIs and NCRs
- Strong communication skills with ability to interface with vendors, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Experience with performance reporting, including daily tracking, quality oversight, and reviewing crew worksheets
- Experience supporting field execution and electrical crew coordination/mobilization
- Experience using Aconex or similar document control / project communication tools
Plusses:
- Experience with Procore, Bentley, Newforma, or Trimble
- Background in industrial, mining, utilities, hydro, or large-scale construction projects
- Experience supporting electrical installation and commissioning activities
- Previous experience working in FIFO or remote site environments
