Position Title:- Jr. Electrical Engineer

Position Type:- Full-Time

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior-level Electrical Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to design and develop a UL864-compliant off-line switching power supply for deployment across PGT fire protection products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power electronics, including off-line switching power supplies, battery chargers, and regulatory compliance with UL and FCC standards. This role involves end-to-end design, from schematic and BOM creation to PCB layout, magnetics, prototyping, and full system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

• Design high-efficiency, fan-less off-line switching power supplies (QR/LLC topology) with universal input (85–264VAC).
• Develop schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts.
• Design magnetics and passive thermal solutions to meet UL864 and FCC Part 15 Class A standards.
• Design of battery charging systems for SLA and Lithium-Ion batteries.
• Conduct testing, prototyping, and verification for compliance with UL864 surge, temperature, and environmental requirements.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing off-line switching power supplies and battery chargers.
• Strong understanding of UL864 and FCC Part 15 compliance.
• Proficiency in magnetics design, EMI/EMC mitigation, and thermal management.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing power electronics.

Preferred Skills:

• Simulation experience (LTspice, PLECS, or equivalent).
• Prior experience designing fire alarm or life-safety power systems.
• Independent project management and problem-solving skills.
