Job Description

As the APAC Chief Financial Officer at Assurant, you will play a crucial role as a senior finance leader and trusted advisor, shaping and guiding the financial vision of the APAC business. Reporting to the International CFO, you will provide strategic financial leadership and decision support to the APAC President and the broader line of business (LOB) leadership team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, shaping, and executing Apacs financial strategy in alignment with enterprise and regional objectives.
  • Owning financial planning, forecasting, target setting, and performance management processes, including oversight of liquidity, capital, and solvency management.
  • Partnering with the business to support strategy development and execution, enabling Apacs vision and creating sustainable value.
  • Serving as a strategic business partner to the senior executive leadership team, providing insight, challenge, and decision support on complex business matters.
  • Providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting to the Board and Executive Leadership.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on Apacs overall business and enterprise profitability, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensuring adherence to strong governance across investment and commercial decisions.
  • Driving optimal business performance, including revenue growth, cost discipline, and capital efficiency.
  • Establishing and continuously enhancing financial and operational controls, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with the Tax function to ensure optimal and compliant tax treatment of the business.
  • Evaluating financial performance and providing forward-looking insights and recommendations to support short-term objectives and long-term growth strategies.
  • Leading and maintaining positive, transparent, and effective engagement with key internal and external stakeholders.

The position requires the following qualifications and experience:

Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or relevant masters preferred.
  • Professional certification strongly preferred: CPA/CA, CMA, and/or CFA.
  • Ongoing executive education in strategy, analytics, or digital transformation is a plus.

Years & Experience

  • 18+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including 810 years in regional or multi-country leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success owning a full P&L and leading FP&A for a complex, multi-market business.
  • Significant exposure to commercial finance, resource allocation, and capital efficiency.
  • Proven track record driving value creation and cost/productivity programs.

Technical & Functional Expertise

  • Financial strategy & planning, controllership & reporting, treasury & capital, tax awareness, M&A/business cases, performance management, regulatory environments, and people leadership.
