Job Description
This is an entry level field position. Any relative experience will be considered but none is required for this role – we will teach you everything you need to know.
You will start on the ground floor working in a team setting. You will be trained on HFC systems and will be working on some of the most comprehensive networks in the country.
Major duties we will provide immediate training for will include (but are not limited to):
- Install, replace, and set-up a wide variety of equipment in both HFC and Fibre only networks. Equipment such as amplifiers, multi-taps, line splitters, nodes, CSP, FPPA, optical splitters and other related equipment as required.
- Reading & understanding as-built and pre-design drawings.
- Completion of all technical documentation as required.
- The use of various technical tools; RF signal meter, TDR, OTDR, fusion splicer, voltmeter, etc
- The use of various hand tools; screwdrivers, wrenches, channel locks, side cutters, etc
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Enthusiasm and a positive outlook
- Open Minded
- Professionalism at every customer interaction.
- The ability to manage efficiently and effectively all deadlines and milestones.
- Thoroughness and care shown when completing all tasks
- Must be able to carry, climb and maneuver a twenty-eight-foot extension ladder weighing up to 80lbs
- Must be willing to travel as required.
- Must be able to safely lift loads of 65 lbs+
- Must have the flexibility to work night shifts as required.
- Must be competent and comfortable with working at heights.
- The ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Other Requirements:
- Valid “G” license
- Clean drivers abstract
Remuneration:
- $25.00/hour during training period (typically 3-6 months)
- $28.00/hour once training has been completed
- Piece work option is also available once skills are sufficient
