Job Description

Role: Lead ML Engineer

Length: 6 months (potential for extension)

Hourly Rate: $75-90/hr

Location: Remote

Your New Role

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll lead the development of next‑generation personalization systems, including a multimodal recommendation engine and emerging generative AI initiatives. You’ll work with massive datasets, architect production‑grade deep learning models, and build scalable ML infrastructure on GCP. Your work will directly impact how millions of Canadians experience personalized product discovery and engagement.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in ML engineering, ideally focused on personalization or recommendation systems
  • Expertise in PyTorch or TensorFlow, and deploying ML models to production
  • Hands-on experience with GCP (Vertex AI, BigTerable, BigQuery, AlloyDB, Cloud Composer)
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proven success building scalable, production ML pipelines end‑to‑end

Preferred

  • Experience with multimodal DL architectures and generative AI models
  • Knowledge of transformer‑based recommenders and modern RS architectures
  • Experience building real‑time inference systems
  • Familiarity with Spark, large‑scale data processing, Airflow/Cloud Composer, CI/CD pipelines
