Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer (I4.0) at Eaton Bangalore, your primary focus will be to support the Industry 4.0 deployment, serving as the Operations/Manufacturing technology leader. Your role involves driving the deployment of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Smart Benches to enhance manufacturing processes through digital transformation. Here are the key responsibilities associated with this role:
- Identify, develop, and drive the deployment of technology-based solutions for digital transformation in manufacturing operations.
- Design, specify, and implement safe and efficient manufacturing processes, including machine guarding, tooling, fixtures, gauges, and material handling.
- Support day-to-day manufacturing operations by collecting and analyzing data to implement process improvements that enhance safety, product quality, customer delivery, and cost reductions.
- Provide mentorship to team members in manufacturing engineering and I4.0 competencies.
- Deploy Eaton Aerospace Group strategy for Smart factories, I4.0, and IIoT at the Bangalore facility.
- Collaborate with site leadership to develop strategies, goals, objectives, and resource planning for the digital transformation of operational processes.
- Leverage digital tools to automate and control manufacturing processes, driving process capability improvements.
- Implement digital solutions for work instructions, error-proofing, automation, inspection, data collection, analysis, and process monitoring.
- Develop, enhance, and improve MES and other application software and reports.
- Ensure safe and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes, adhering to industry standards and practices.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to ensure process efficiency in terms of capital intensity and human resources.
- Collaborate with new product development teams to ensure the proper use of MES and Smart Factory concepts.
- Mentor others in Manufacturing Engineering competencies, processes, I4.0 technologies, and lean concepts.
- Manage activities and budgets for manufacturing and process improvement projects, including project management and implementation documentation.
- Utilize AIAG tools for Measurement System Analysis, Capability Analysis, SPC, and FMEA.
- Work directly with manufacturing operators to troubleshoot and improve processes, including fabrication, assembly, measuring, and testing of products.
Qualifications required for this role:
- Engineering degree in Electromechanical or Controls.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in a technical role supporting manufacturing processes or related engineering functions.
Skills and experience needed:
- Experience using MRP, PDM, and MES software solutions.
- Direct experience with design, implementation, or improvement of automated equipment, tooling, or fixtures.
- Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Python, Power Tools, 3D modeling, Rapid Prototyping, PLC Softwares and ladder logic, Cobot Programming, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Basic Drawing Reading, Manufacturing Processes like PFMEA, RCCA, SOP, BOM, CI Tools, and PLC Programming.
