Job Description
As an experienced L2 Network Engineer, your role will involve supporting and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Routing, Switching, Firewall management, and Wireless technologies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing day-to-day network operations such as configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Managing and supporting LAN, WAN, and WLAN networks to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.
- Monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements.
- Handling L2-level escalations, conducting root cause analysis, and providing permanent fixes.
- Collaborating with vendors and L3 teams for complex issue resolution and network upgrades.
- Implementing and maintaining network security policies, including firewall rules and access controls.
- Participating in network change management, documentation, and configuration backup activities.
- Supporting network expansion, migration, and infrastructure enhancement projects.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network operations.
- Strong knowledge of Routing (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and Switching (VLAN, STP, Trunking).
- Hands-on experience with Firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortigate, or Cisco ASA).
- Good understanding of Wireless technologies (Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, or equivalent).
- Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios).
- Familiarity with ITIL process framework and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA / CCNP / Fortinet NSE / Palo Alto PCNSE will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
