Job Description
As a leader in the IT department and a team member responsible for organization-wide systems, the Onsite IT Operations Manager will partner with members of the client leadership team to drive execution on strategic initiatives. You are responsible for site-wide IT operations coordination, communication, and oversight. Additionally, you will oversee and determine timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and planned outages. You will provide “white glove” support to assigned clients, dedicated IT operational personnel, and the executive suite.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management
- Provide directions for IT team members
- Monitor staff performance
- Oversee the administration of network infrastructure and the resources on which it relies including vendors & dependent services\organizations
- Review and improve defined service metrics
- Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of all production systems
- Provide advice and support development of QA as needed
- Provide status reports regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues
- Compile weekly comprehensive analysis of all service tickets and identifying potential trends
- Review weekly infrastructure reports and metrics and escalate areas of concern
- Manage all vendor relationships and identify areas of improvement
- Document changes to client environments, in accordance with change management policies
- Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
- Mentor site members
- Attend weekly/bi-weekly client meetings and planning initiatives with vCIO to develop strategy
Systems Administration
- Support and administer networks and servers
- Routinely evaluate network performance
- Work as a point of escalation for your site
- Maintain IT policies & complete audit requests
- Maintain best practices alignment
- Identify needed updates, communicate the need, and proactively implement them within contract guidelines
EDUCATION & EXPERTISE
Required
- BSc/BA in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience
- Certification (MCSA, CISSP, PMP) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience working in an IT management role
- Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
- Understand the interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
- Work under tight deadlines and/or shifting priorities
- Full technical understanding and expertise in Windows Server, Public and private DNS functionality, Active Directory support, VPN support and configuration, File server support and configuration, RDS environment support, and Hypervisors
- Occasionally work past 5 PM or before 8 AM to complete work tasks; occasional nights and weekend work possible
- Provide on-call coverage for site
