Integrated Services - Family & Community Support Services (FCSS)

Cold Lake First Nations

Permanent Full-Time Position

Cold Lake First Nations is seeking a highly organized and creative Communications Coordinator to support Integrated Services and Family & Community Support Services (FCSS). This role is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering clear, accurate, and culturally respectful communications that strengthen transparency, engagement, and community awareness.

About the Role

The Communications Coordinator will:

  • Develop and maintain a communications calendar aligned with FCSS programs and priorities
  • Manage FCSS social media platforms and digital communications
  • Create and publish posts, graphics, short videos, and announcements
  • Draft scripts and key messaging for Chief updates related to FCSS initiatives
  • Design promotional materials for FCSS programs and the Youth Centre
  • Coordinate communication for community engagement sessions and events
  • Monitor engagement metrics and provide reporting to leadership
  • Ensure all communications meet approval processes, privacy requirements, and cultural protocols

This role plays a key part in strengthening how information is shared with members of the Nation.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Media, Graphic Design, or a related field

(An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in communications or social media management
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated experience creating written, visual, and digital content
  • Experience working in a community-based, non-profit, or Indigenous organization is considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Office-based role with occasional community travel
  • Some evening or weekend work may be required for events
  • Extended periods of computer and screen time
