Job Description

Role Description

The Strategic Marketing Manager is a hands-on role for someone who gets things built. You bring ideas to life, move quickly from strategy to execution, and are most satisfied when you can point to real work in the market — campaigns launched, brands strengthened, audiences grown.

You will own the evolution of the CityWest brand across all lines of business — and build what comes next. As we grow into new markets and launch new services, you will be on the ground floor of that work, developing the marketing programs, positioning, and go-to-market strategies that turn new opportunities into real traction. That means getting into the work — developing and executing marketing programs, driving channel strategy, shaping how customers and communities experience CityWest at every touchpoint. This is not a role for someone who delegates execution; it is a role for someone who leads it

We are looking for a marketer who challenges conventional approaches not in theory, but in practice — someone with a track record of trying new things, measuring what works, and building on it. You will amplify our story across diverse channels, support growth across our lines of business, and help position CityWest for its next chapter.

If you are energized by seeing your work in the market, by moving fast, and by connecting strategy directly to results — this role was built for you.

Responsibilities

Planning

  • Build and own marketing plans — set the priorities and drive execution against measurable outcomes aligned to corporate objectives

Brand & Communications

  • Be the brand guardian — write, review, and approve messaging, creative assets, and collateral that reflect CityWest's community-connected identity across every touchpoint
  • Write and manage corporate communications, announcements, and community engagement content
  • Get out into the communities we serve — lead activation initiatives, show up at events, and build the relationships that strengthen CityWest's local presence

Campaign Management

  • Build campaigns from brief to launch — plan, execute, and optimize multi-channel campaigns that drive awareness, acquisition, and retention across local markets
  • Get into the systems — configure and program promotional offers and campaign elements in ERP platforms
  • Own campaign timelines and deliverables, keeping teams on track and accountable
  • Track campaign performance, and make real-time adjustments to improve results

Digital & Content Marketing

  • Oversee the website — write, and manage content
  • Guide social media presence — develop the content, write posts, respond to the community, and grow the audience
  • Execute digital marketing initiatives including paid media, email, and SEO

Revenue & Growth Alignment

  • Partner with Sales and Customer Experience teams — understand where leads are coming from, and build the marketing programs that move the needle on acquisition and retention
  • Own go-to-market execution for product launches, service expansions, and service growth initiatives — from positioning to campaign to post-launch measurement
  • Track marketing's contribution to revenue monthly and bring the numbers to the table

Partner & Budget Management

  • Own the marketing budget — build it, manage it, and account for every dollar spent
  • Manage designers, media partners, and vendors directly
  • Lead philanthropic and community investment activities — manage applications, relationships, and follow-through
  • Be the day-to-day point of contact for partner relationships

Team Leadership

  • Coach and develop marketing staff through real feedback, hands-on guidance, and shared accountability for results — you are invested in building the next generation of marketers at CityWest
  • Work across departments as a peer and collaborator — keep execution integrated and moving

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field — or equivalent experience that proves you can do the job
  • 7+ years of hands-on marketing experience, including several years in a senior role where you were responsible for campaign outcomes
  • A track record of building and running campaigns end-to-end — from brief through execution to results — across multiple channels simultaneously
  • Comfortable in marketing and CRM software and able to pull, interpret, and act on your own data

Skills and Competencies

  • You think strategically but execute personally — you can set the direction and then do the work to get there
  • You write well and write often — copy, briefs, communications, and campaign messaging come naturally, and you hold yourself to the highest of standard
  • You run projects with discipline — deadlines are met, stakeholders are informed, and nothing falls through the cracks
  • You know what metrics matter, you find them, and you use them to make decisions and adjust course in real time
  • You are creative and organized in equal measure — you can generate the idea and build the plan to execute it on time and on budget
  • You build real relationships — with vendors, partners, and community contacts — based on follow-through and reliability
  • You work well across teams because you understand that marketing does not succeed in isolation
