Distribution Control Operator - Electrical Power Systems

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Engineering technologies and engineering-related fields, other. Electrical and power transmission installation/installer, general. Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Control centre. Public utilities. Electrical utilities. Tasks: Complete and maintain station records, logs and reports. Read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams. Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunction. Assist during routine systems testing. Assist in locating and isolating system problems. Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities. Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally. Operate automated or computerized control systems. Perform routine equipment maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Power System Trade Certification. Power Systems/Stations Operators Trade Certification.
