Job Description

Blueleaf Energy is a leading pan-Asian renewable energy platform, owned by a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management—one of the world’s largest infrastructure asset managers. We specialize in utility-scale solar, wind, energy storage, and hybrid renewables projects. Our mission is to accelerate Asia’s transition to a just, reliable, and affordable clean energy future, driven by innovation, strong local partnerships, and a commitment to sustainability.

Role Summary

We are seeking a high-energy, analytically strong individual to partner closely with the India Country Head in scaling our renewable energy portfolio in India.

This role combines strategic execution, operational excellence, and hands-on investment analysis. The incumbent will help ensure disciplined capital deployment across solar, wind, hybrid, and storage projects, while driving alignment across development, EPC, financing, and asset management functions.

The ideal candidate is commercially sharp, financially rigorous, and execution-driven — someone comfortable moving between board-level materials and on-ground project bottlenecks.

How You Will Make an Impact

In this Chief of Staff role, you will help the Country Head run the business day-to-day—setting the operating cadence, sharpening priorities, and ensuring decisions turn into action. You will coordinate across teams, track critical milestones and risks, remove bottlenecks, and keep stakeholders aligned so projects move faster and with greater discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Execution & Business Rhythm

  • Translate annual MW and capital deployment targets into actionable quarterly plans.
  • Track pipeline progression from origination to COD.
  • Drive monthly and quarterly performance reviews across functions.
  • Monitor key KPIs: MW secured, PPA status, capex/MW, construction timelines, leverage, operational performance, IRRs and Asset Value

2. Operational Excellence & Risk Management

  • Build dashboards covering:
  • Pipeline stage-gates
  • Cost benchmarking across projects
  • Construction progress vs. plan
  • Operational performance vs budget
  • Portfolio returns vs. underwriting
  • Financing covenants tracking
  • Identify emerging risks (regulatory, grid, land, counterparty) and escalate proactively.
  • Standardize project evaluation frameworks and approval processes.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as integrator between Development, EPC, Finance, Legal, and Asset Management.
  • Drive problem-solving for delayed or underperforming projects.
  • Ensure commercial discipline without slowing execution.

4. Country Head Operational Support

  • Act as a trusted execution partner to the Country Head on high-priority operational and commercial matters.
  • Track resolution of key bottlenecks across land acquisition, permitting, grid connectivity, EPC execution, counterparty risks, and financing.
  • Ensure follow-through on leadership decisions and strategic initiatives that impact MW delivery, COD timelines, and portfolio returns.
  • Support crisis management and underperformance situations by coordinating structured cross-functional response.
  • Support strategic reviews and annual business planning.
  • Track and follow up on key decisions and action items.
  • Support on thought leadership and marketing activities
  • Manage meetings and events on behalf of the Country Head

5. Board & Leadership Support

  • Prepare board updates and shareholder materials.
  • Support strategic reviews and annual business planning.
  • Track and follow up on key decisions and action items

What Makes You a Great Fit

Ideal Profile

  • 2–5 years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure investing, project finance, consulting, or IPP operations.
  • Graduate or post-graduate from top tier educational institution; CFA shall be an advantage
  • Highly structured thinker with strong follow-through.
  • Comfortable in a high-growth, performance-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of the Indian renewable energy ecosystem (tariff trends, ISTS/open access, PPA structures, financing landscape) will be an advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced Excel / presentation making skills
  • Strong commercial judgment
  • Execution discipline and operational rigor
  • Clear and concise executive communication
  • Ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams
  • High ownership mindset
  • Operational excellence through IT tools deployment; vibe coding experience/skills would be an advantage

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses tied to company success.
  • Flexible hybrid work model
  • Comprehensive Group Health Insurance coverage
  • Career development and training opportunities
