Garden Centre Merchandiser (Seasonal)

We are currently seeking a Garden Centre Merchandisers in Toronto for our spring season. Starting in May and ending later in the summer.

Job Description

Bloomworks Merchandising (formerly CMS) is a third party merchandising company in the live goods (plants) industry operating across Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes. We service several big box retailers by merchandising plants in their indoor and outdoor garden centres.

Job Summary

• Merchandisers are responsible for the care and presentation of the live goods in the local retail stores
• Responsible for completing online reports (including pictures) through a free mobile app.
• Merchandisers are responsible for the visual display and integrity of our products as well as pricing and inventory management.

Specific Skills / Abilities:

• Physical work - able to lift 50 lbs
• Standing/Working for long periods of time
• Fast-paced environment; Repetitive tasks
• Handling, pulling and lifting heavy loads at times. This is a physically demanding job.
• A friendly presence as you will be expected to establish positive relationships with store staff and customers.
• The ability to follow direction and have a keen eye for attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently

Qualification Requirements

• Smart phone required, regular usage (email/phone/photos, etc.)
• Safety-toed shoes or boots required (steel or composite) for duration of shift
• Flexibility with work hours and to adapt to the needs of the business, including the willingness to work on weekends during busy spring season
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada
• A vehicle is required for this role

Who you are

• Have an interest in plants, flowers, trees, horticulture, landscape, arboriculture, retail, floral design, agriculture, environmental studies.
• Garden centre or landscaping experience would be an asset.
• Summer students are welcome!

Hours: Part-Time/Full-Time (This is a seasonal position)

• Fluctuating schedule
• 7 days a week availability required
