We’re seeking a talented, motivated content writer/journalist who will conduct professional phone interviews and craft engaging branded content stories for our competitive digital platforms.

You’ll collaborate with the Managing Editor and team members to produce high-quality branded content for Impress Studio – a fast-paced environment where strong storytelling and client care go hand-in-hand.

Success in this role requires excellent organization, clear and timely communication, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines with professionalism. You should be comfortable working independently with integrity, while also contributing to a collaborative, client-focused team.

You’ll be responsible for every stage of the content process – from interviewing clients and writing engaging stories to proofing and understanding the basics of photography and video. The ideal candidate brings a balance of creativity, structure and people skills, along with a genuine interest in helping clients tell their story.

Key Responsibilities

• Interviewing clients and story subjects from diverse backgrounds in communities across North America
• Producing clean, engaging, error-free writing
• Creating content that connects with clients and their audiences
• Collaborating with clients through the editing and approval process
• Writing compelling social media copy to support each story

Qualifications & Skills

• Post-secondary education in journalism, communications, or a related field – or equivalent industry experience
• Excellent communication skills – clear, concise, professional and timely
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• A client-focused mindset with outstanding interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with integrity and as part of a team
• Experience meeting deadlines and managing multiple assignments
• Ability to produce multiple branded content stories per day that are accurate, thoughtful and reflective of the communities we serve
• Experience using multimedia storytelling to drive engagement, including SEO strategies

Compensation: $23.18 hourly

Assets: video editing skills, Google Analytics, WordPress experience

A smartphone is required

Some evening and weekend work may be required
