Role
A boutique consulting/legal services firm is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Consultant to advise employer clients on workers’ compensation claims management and disability-related matters. This role focuses on supporting organizations in navigating workplace injury claims, return-to-work programs, and regulatory obligations while managing financial and operational risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage workplace injury and workers’ compensation claims across multiple jurisdictions, with a primary focus on Ontario.
- Advise employer clients on claim strategy, regulatory compliance, and cost management related to workplace injury programs.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including employers, insurance boards, healthcare providers, and legal representatives.
- Conduct claim entitlement reviews and provide written recommendations regarding claim management, objections, or appeals.
- Support return-to-work and recovery planning to reduce lost time and optimize outcomes.
- Prepare objections and participate in appeal processes where required.
- Provide guidance on workers’ compensation program structures, including employer classifications, premiums, and cost-containment strategies.
Qualifications
- Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario (lawyer or paralegal).
- Approximately 5–10 years of experience in workers’ compensation, disability management, or related claims advisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation, policies, and processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience advising employer clients on regulatory compliance and claims strategy.
