Our Client

Our client is a sophisticated and fast-growing financial services platform with a strong presence in the Canadian mortgage and structured finance market.

Responsibilities

• Support structured finance, securitization, and syndicated lending transactions.
• Advise on Canadian residential mortgage matters and loan financing structures.
• Review, draft, and negotiate transaction documents, commercial agreements, and vendor contracts.
• Support financing and loan sale transactions from inception through closing.
• Handle corporate and governance matters as required.
• Manage external counsel and coordinate transaction execution efficiently.
• Identify legal and commercial risks proactively and help move transactions forward.
• Work closely with business stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Operate independently with significant ownership and responsibility over files.

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario strongly preferred.
• Approximately 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong background in structured finance, securitization, lending, or mortgage finance.
• Experience at a leading Canadian or international law firm preferred.
• Ability to independently manage transactions and provide practical legal advice.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and issue-spotting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Commercial mindset, strong judgment, and proactive approach.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive with minimal supervision.
