Working Hours: This role operates on USA working hours, aligned to the time zone coverage required by the customer base and the Service Desk.
Position Overview
The Technical Delivery Associate — Network Engineer is a network focused role responsible for the design, configuration, monitoring, and ongoing support of LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless environments across BetterWorld's managed customer base. This individual is the deep specialist on the team for switching, routing, firewalling, and wireless.
The role partners closely with Service Desk, Infrastructure, and Security teams on escalations, project work, and customer onboardings. The Network Engineer owns network configuration standards, change quality, and the documentation that keeps multi customer environments supportable at scale.
Documentation is treated as a first class deliverable. Network diagrams, configuration baselines, and change records must be recorded so that any team member can pick up an environment and act on it without context loss.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless network environments across the customer base.
- Administer and support firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless controllers (Meraki, Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti).
- Manage firewall policy lifecycle, rule reviews, and segmentation standards.
- Configure and support site to site and remote access VPNs.
- Implement and maintain wireless networks, SSID design, and authentication (WPA2/3 Enterprise, RADIUS).
- Support cloud networking environments across Azure and AWS, including VNets, peering, and routing.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability; troubleshoot connectivity issues to resolution.
- Implement network security best practices, segmentation, and zero trust aligned controls.
- Document network configurations, diagrams, change records, and operational standards in IT Glue or the designated documentation platform.
- Support new customer onboardings and network refresh projects in partnership with the PMO.
- Maintain SLA reaction times and accurate ticket documentation.
- Identify gaps in tools, processes, and standards, and recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of network engineering experience, ideally in an MSP or multi customer environment.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching.
- Hands-on experience administering at least two of: Meraki, Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti.
- Practical experience with firewall policy management and network segmentation.
- Experience with wireless design, deployment, and troubleshooting in business environments.
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts across Azure and AWS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
- Excellent documentation discipline and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Network+, CCNA, Meraki, Fortinet NSE, or Azure networking (AZ-700) certifications.
- Exposure to SD-WAN, NAC, or zero trust networking platforms.
- Experience with network monitoring platforms (Auvik, PRTG, LogicMonitor, or similar).
- Experience with ConnectWise Manage, ConnectWise Automate, or equivalent PSA/RMM platforms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes and ITSM tools such as ConnectWise Manage.
- Ability to prioritize across multiple customers and ticket queues.
- Strong customer service orientation with a sense of urgency on connectivity incidents.
- Comfort operating independently while coordinating across distributed teams.
- Methodical, change controlled approach to network work; avoids unverified changes in production.
