Azure Support and DevOps Specialist - Operations Production Management

Location: Montreal (day 1 onboarding onsite/in-office presence required 3x/week)

Duration: 12 month

Schedule: Available for occasional planned weekend rotational support. Work hours may vary between 9am-6pm or 12pm-9pm, communicated in advance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure stability and resilience of critical Settlements flow hosted on premises and cloud platforms.
• Support systems and end users while performing project tasks to improve the production environment.
• Apply technical and domain expertise to solve complex technical and business challenges.
• Act as a buffer between support and development teams to resolve problems within the production management team.
• Manage critical incidents with concise communication, ensuring all key management and business stakeholders are informed.
• Work with software developers and infrastructure engineering teams to develop automated reliability solutions.
• Implement observability and telemetry systems to support applications and APIs.
• Use automation to enhance system management, uptime, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the IT industry, including at least 2 years in Level 3 Production Management in a Java-based application environment.
• Experience supporting applications deployed on Azure Cloud.
• Expert knowledge of observability and reliability tools and techniques in a cloud-native environment.
• Expertise in analyzing, debugging, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed applications across software, infrastructure, and database layers.
• Experience working in Python and Java code bases.
• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Terraform or GitHub.
• Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes, Azure Spring Apps, Azure Web Apps, AzureSQL, Kafka, and Azure ServiceBus.
• Experience instrumenting application services endpoints for logging, metrics, and events using Azure Monitor, Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Knowledge of observability design principles.
