Corporate Controller

Atlas Connections has partnered with a rapidly scaling data center developer and operator to hire a Corporate Controller. This role sits at the center of the accounting function, reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, and offers high visibility, real ownership, and the chance to build out a team as the business continues to grow.

What You'll Own

• Lead the monthly and quarterly close process across multiple entities, partnering closely with the CAO to drive timeline, accuracy, and continuous improvement
• Own the integrity of the general ledger, consolidations, and internal financial reporting
• Manage technical accounting matters under US GAAP, including lease accounting, revenue recognition, capitalized interest, and fixed asset accounting tied to data center development
• Partner with FP&A on variance analysis, budget-to-actuals, and management reporting packages
• Lead the external audit process and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and treasury operations
• Build out and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX-readiness processes
• Directly manage an AP Specialist and Senior Accountant today, with the opportunity to scale and lead a team of 5 to 7 as the company grows
• Partner cross-functionally with development, construction, legal, tax, and operations on transaction accounting, project accounting, and joint venture reporting
• Drive ERP optimization and process automation

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role
• CPA required
• Big 4 or large public accounting foundation strongly preferred
• Industry experience in data centers, real estate, infrastructure, construction, energy, or another capital-intensive development environment
• Strong technical US GAAP knowledge with hands-on experience in consolidations, multi-entity accounting, and project/development accounting
• Track record of building or scaling accounting functions in a high-growth environment
• Experience with Yardi, Sage Intacct, or NetSuite etc.
• Excellent communicator who can partner with executive leadership and translate accounting matters to non-finance stakeholders

Logistics

• Location: Arlington, VA
• Schedule: Onsite Monday through Thursday, remote Friday
• Compensation: $160,000 to $180,000 base + 10% target bonus + benefits
