As Astranis’s Engineering Financial Analyst, you will play a critical support role for our engineering teams, helping to ensure financial clarity as we design, build, and scale. We are seeking a finance professional with an exceptional work ethic, a solid foundation in financial analysis, and an eagerness to learn on the job.

You are an ideal candidate if you pride yourself on being a highly collaborative, service-oriented business partner. In this role, you will meet directly with engineers to support their budget needs, providing necessary financial guidance as a pragmatic business partner. We are looking for someone adaptable—an individual we can mentor and mold as they grow alongside our dynamic Engineering department.

Role

Support financial planning, reporting, and budget tracking for the Engineering function.

Meet regularly with engineers and technical staff to gather data, understand their resourcing needs, and act as a helpful, approachable partner.

Assist in analyzing financial data, tracking variances, and understanding department spend to provide clear visibility to team leads.

Facilitate smooth communication between Finance and Engineering, ensuring financial processes are intuitive and minimally disruptive to technical workflows.

Embrace a "learn on the job" mentality, adapting to new challenges, systems, and ad-hoc analytical requests as the company grows.

Support the broader Finance and Accounting teams during the monthly and quarterly close processes.

Requirements

Up to 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical role (recent graduates with strong internships and an exceptional work ethic are encouraged to apply).

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field.

Strong foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Experience partnering with engineering teams to support budgeting, forecasting and analysis.

Exceptional work ethic, humility, and a proactive, eager-to-learn attitude.

Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build trust and partner seamlessly with non-finance teams, avoiding a heavy-handed approach.

Adaptable and flexible; comfortable in a fast-paced environment where the role will evolve and mold to your growing strengths.

Bonus

Prior experience in a startup or high-growth company environment.

Some engineering experience, educational background, or a strong personal interest in hardtech and hardware development.

Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
