The OEM Supplier Account Manager role at Applied Materials involves managing strategic relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery performance align with organizational goals. This position entails end-to-end supply chain engagement, supplier qualification, and risk mitigation for OEM equipment sourcing.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for OEM Commodities such as Electrical Electronics, Instrumentation, and Electro-mechanical components.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned OEM suppliers.
- Measure and track Supplier KPIs covering cost, quality, delivery, and lead time.
- Identify alternate sources to mitigate supply risk and ensure continuity.
- Partner with stakeholders to oversee OEM supplier qualification processes, including technical capability assessments and compliance with global Standards.
- Negotiate commercial terms and contracts with suppliers.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to qualify new suppliers and materials meeting cost targets and specifications.
- Act as the final escalation point for supplier issues and drive resolution.
- Evaluate cost structures and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Analyze market trends and supplier benchmarks to maintain competitive pricing.
- Align and implement commodity strategies.
- Engage in new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements.
- Support resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery, or lead-time.
- *Skills:**
- Strong negotiator with the ability to read people quickly and adapt to complex situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Strong relationship-building skills in a matrixed organization.
- Clear, concise, and timely communication.
- Experience working remotely and globally.
- Proficiency in logistics and customs regulation.
- Problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Resourceful with strong work ethics and project execution.
- *Experience:**
- Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering field.
- 10 years of experience in Manufacturing, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Project Management, or relevant industry certification(s).
- Practical experience in procurement of equipment from OEMs.
- 5 years of leading commercial large-scale negotiations with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of SAP, Ariba RFQ tool is an added advantage.
- *Requirements:**
- Indian citizen with a valid passport and ability to travel to Asia, Singapore, China, and the USA.
- Ability to travel 35% of the work time.
- Flexibility to work from home/office environment and in multiple time zones.
- Valid driving license.
