Join us on the bleeding edge of intelligent, efficient, and resilient AR wearable devices, and help our service members succeed in any situation!</p> <h3>Responsibilities:</h3> <p>As a Staff Systems Engineer on the EagleEye team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the performance and power characteristics of our cutting-edge AR wearable products. Your day-to-day will span from architectural definition through to execution, requiring a hybrid skillset bridging hardware and software. Your key responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the evaluation and selection of next-generation silicon architectures by collaborating closely with Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs), providing critical technical feedback on their silicon designs.</li> <li>Partner with Platform Software Engineers to drive system-level optimizations for power, performance, and latency across the entire product stack.</li> <li>Conduct in-depth analysis and optimization of battery life and thermal design power tradeoffs to deliver a comfortable, long-lasting, and high-performing wearable experience.</li> <li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system power efficiency and performance from initial concept through to final product deployment.</li> <li>Perform deep-dive root cause analysis for complex system performance and power issues, identifying solutions, and independently prioritizing efforts based on customer needs and engineering risk.</li> <li>Develop and implement rigorous profiling methodologies to identify bottlenecks and areas for optimization at various system levels.</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, product, and other engineering teams to integrate solutions and ensure holistic system success.</li> <li>Contribute to defining architectural requirements and specifications, translating product vision into technical execution.</li> </ul> <h3>Required Experiences:</h3> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in system-level power and performance engineering, with a strong focus on System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures.</li> <li>Deep understanding of silicon chip architectures, including CPU, GPU, DSP, and memory subsystems, and how they interact to impact overall system performance and power.</li> <li>Proven expertise in SoC performance tuning, optimization techniques, and power management strategies.</li> <li>Proficiency with industry-standard system profiling tools and methodologies, especially within Android operating environments and on Qualcomm chipsets.</li> <li>Strong command of lower-level software, including kernel and driver analysis, and a solid understanding of operating system concepts.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to effectively bridge hardware and software engineering disciplines, understanding implications across the stack.</li> <li>Experience finding and solving complex engineering problems independently, while effectively balancing customer needs with technical risks.</li> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.</li> <li>Eligibility to receive and maintain a United States security clearance.</li> </ul> <h3>Nice-to-Have Experiences:</h3> <ul> <li>Experience with Microcontrollers (MCUs) or sensor aggregation architectures, including Digital Signal Processors (DSPs).</li> <li>Familiarity with various sensor types and their integration into low-power, high-performance embedded systems.</li> <li>Prior experience working with Augmented Reality wearable devices or other ultra-low-power consumer electronics.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">US Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$191,000</span><span class="divider">—</span><span>$253,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span data-contrast="auto">The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
