Role Summary

Alteris Consulting is seeking a highly experienced SAP Integration Lead to provide architectural leadership and delivery oversight for integrations within a large‑scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program. This role is responsible for leading the design, governance, and delivery of integrations aligned to the organization’s Integration Center of Excellence (CoE) standards and enterprise integration strategy.

The Integration Lead bridges program delivery and enterprise architecture, ensuring S/4HANA integrations are API‑first, secure‑by‑design, governed, observable, and reusable. The role provides hands‑on technical leadership across SAP Integration Suite (SAP BIS) and related platforms, enabling scalable, product‑oriented integrations across SAP and non‑SAP systems while leveraging existing CoE standards and accelerators.

Guiding Principles

• Strong, current technical leadership in SAP Business Integration Suite (BIS) with API‑first design and governed integration patterns
• Secondary experience with SAP PI/PO, MuleSoft, and JSCAPE to guide cross‑platform integration approaches
• Focus on architectural consistency, structure, and reusable, product‑oriented integration services
• Practice‑level leadership enforcing SDLC discipline, governance, and resilient integration design
• Championing Integration CoE principles: API‑first, secure‑by‑design, reuse, consistent naming, unified operations, and lifecycle management

Ensure the SAP S/4HANA program delivers a scalable, secure, and reusable integration landscape aligned with Integration CoE strategy and enterprise architecture standards, while partnering closely with the Project Manager to support on‑time and on‑budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities

S/4 HANA Integration Leadership

• Lead end‑to‑end integration design and delivery for the SAP S/4HANA program
• Act as the single integration design authority for S/4HANA
• Ensure SAP Integration Suite (SAP BIS) is used as the primary enterprise integration capability
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership across all integration workstreams

Architecture and Standards

• Define and enforce API‑first, secure‑by‑design, reusable integration patterns
• Ensure consistent enterprise naming conventions and pattern reuse across integrations
• Provide architectural guidance across SAP BIS, SAP PI/PO, MuleSoft, and JSCAPE
• Ensure alignment with SAP Activate methodology, enterprise architecture standards, and security requirements

Integration Lifecycle & Lifecycle Management

• Enforce integration governance standards including security, observability, resiliency, and compliance
• Ensure standardized lifecycle practices for all integration assets (design, build, test, deploy, operate)
• Support unified operations through monitoring, logging, alerting, and error‑handling standards
• Reduce point‑to‑point integrations through governed, reusable services

Delivery Enablement & COE Alignment

• Partner with delivery teams to ensure scalable, maintainable, and supportable implementations
• Leverage Integration CoE standards, accelerators, and reference architectures
• Identify and proactively mitigate integration risks, dependencies, and technical debt
• Support cutover planning, go‑live readiness, and post‑go‑live stabilization for integration components

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with SAP functional leads, enterprise architects, solution architects, business stakeholders, and S/4HANA project managers
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure end‑to‑end readiness
• Act as the primary integration liaison between the S/4HANA program and the Integration CoE

Success Measures

• Delivery of API‑first, governed, and reusable integrations
• Reduction in custom and point‑to‑point integrations
• Operational readiness and stability at go‑live
• Strong alignment with enterprise integration roadmap and CoE strategy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field
• 10-12+ years of SAP experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior integration lead or architecture role
• Proven experience delivering SAP S/4HANA implementations or large‑scale integration programs
• Consulting experience preferred

Technical Expertise

• Deep, hands‑on experience with:
• SAP Integration Suite (SAP BIS)
• SAP CPI and cloud‑based integration patterns
• Working knowledge of:
• SAP PI/PO, MuleSoft, and JSCAPE
• API‑based integrations, event‑driven architectures, and middleware platforms
• IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, OData services, and interface monitoring tools
• Experience integrating SAP with systems such as GIS, EAM, mobile workforce, financial systems, and analytics platforms
• Understanding of cloud, on‑premise, and hybrid integration landscapes

Leadership & Delivery Skills

• Strong architectural leadership and decision‑making capability
• Ability to translate enterprise strategy into practical delivery guidance
• Experience working in multi‑vendor, multi‑platform environments
• SAP Activate, Agile, or relevant SAP certifications are an asset
