Our client in the scientific research space is looking for a freelance Marketing Automation Specialist to support the team. You will execute email marketing and automation initiatives. This role sits on the Marketing Operations, Technology, and Analytics team and partners across the organization to deliver effective campaigns and insights.

This is a contract role for 6 months and will require you to come onsite at least two days a week at their office in Washington, D.C.

Marketing Automation Specialist Responsibilities:

• Execute ad-hoc and recurring email campaigns using Eloqua
• Build and manage automated campaigns based on business requirements
• Develop emails, landing pages, and forms using WYSIWYG and HTML
• Manage email testing, approvals, and quality assurance processes
• Maintain and coordinate the email marketing calendar
• Analyze campaign performance and provide actionable insights
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support marketing needs

Marketing Automation Specialist Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, IT, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in digital marketing or marketing automation
• Proficiency with marketing automation platforms (Eloqua, Marketo, Pardot, etc.)
• Eloqua experience strongly preferred
• Basic coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
• Familiarity with LLM tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude) is a plus

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
